Our History

In 1987, Richard Zemenick and Jim Walker founded Zemenick & Walker on the premise that investors desire professional, conflict-free investment advice tailored to their specific needs.

Our advice is skewed toward capital preservation, relying heavily on the merits of consistent asset allocation and equity sector diversification using low-cost, active money managers along with the construction of a laddered, fixed-income portfolio.

The firm has grown to manage over $1.9 billion in client assets for 171 clients located across the country. Some clients have generated wealth from the sale of a business, some from inheritance, yet many are professionals – accountants, attorneys, doctors – who realize the benefits of conflict-free, independent investment advice. Many of those individuals have had relationships with not-for-profit and pension organizations leading to our significant concentration in those entities.
